Lane County Community Wildfire Protection Plan (CWPP) Project Page

CWPP LogoA Community Wildfire Protection Plan or CWPP is a collaborative, community-based forest planning and prioritization process. CWPPs are developed by communities at risk from wildfire to help clarify and refine priorities for the protection of life, property, and critical infrastructure.

Lane County is currently working in collaboration with the Oregon Department of Forestry and other agencies to update the 2005 Lane County Community Wildfire Protection Plan.

Lane County Landowner Survey:

The Lane County Wildfire Protection Plan update project will involve updating the Community Outreach and Collaboration element of the plan. One aspect of the current plan’s outreach and collaboration efforts was the Landowner Survey, which was first conducted in 2005. The same survey is being conducted again for the CWPP update and the questions have largely remained the same as those from the 2005 survey to allow comparison of data across time. The purpose of the survey is to gain current information about how rural Lane County landowners in wildland-urban interface areas perceive the potential risk of wildfire and their attitudes towards risk reduction and preparedness strategies. The survey results will be used to focus future public outreach activities and events aimed at wildfire risk reduction and loss prevention. Please use the link below to participate in the Landowner Survey.
