County Commissioners
The Board of County Commissioners legislates and administers county government within the limits of its authority granted in the Lane County Home Rule Charter. The charter grants legislative and administrative power to the full-time, paid five-person board. Individually, board members may seek to address the needs of constituents and carry out special assignments as the full board may direct. This program includes performance auditing, which provides the board with independent management audits of selected programs within Lane County government.

County Assessor & Tax Collector
The County Assessor is responsible for the Department of Assessment & Taxation, which establishes property values through methods prescribed by State laws and regulations, ensuring that all property is assessed equitably. The Assessor levies $350 million in property taxes for all the taxing districts in Lane County, which include schools, cities, fire districts, libraries and water districts.
Sheriff
The County Sheriff is responsible for promoting peace and safety; protecting the lives and property of the citizens of Lane County by reducing opportunities for criminal acts; apprehending individuals suspected of criminal acts; and providing lawful and constitutional care of persons in the custody of the adult corrections facility and alternative programs without discrimination, and to the fullest extend allowable by available resources.
Justice Court Judges
Lane County has three justice courts, located in Florence, Oakridge and Springfield. Each court is responsible for the adjudication of a variety of complaints, including criminal, civil, traffic and marine, filed within each court's jurisdictional boundary. The Oakridge and Florence courts were established as a service to the residents of East and West Lane County by providing a convenient, accessible court. The Central Lane Justice Court in Springfield supports the operational costs of the Public Safety Traffic Team, created in 1990 to reduce the high numbers of accidents and fatalities on certain county roadways.
