Did you know that Lane County is 98 percent timberland…56 percent owned by the Federal Government. Secure Rural Schools and Community Self-determination Act of 2000 preserves the century-long partnership between federal, state and local citizenry.Find out how the Act helps preserve schools, roads, public safety and human services. The Act sunsets after 2006 and efforts are underway by  Lane County’s Congressional Delegation to gain renewal.  Video time: 4 minutes?
