Sr., and Pete Sorenson present. County
Administrator Jeff Spartz, County Counsel Liane Richardson and Recording

SECOND READING AND PUBLIC HEARING Ordinance No. 6-08/In the
Marle Hoehne, Deeds and Records, explained that when they implemented the Domestic Partnership fees, they reviewed all the fees in Lane Code and Lane Manual that applied to their division and discovered some were redundant with state statute or were obsolete and had no longer been used in many years. He said they came up with a proposal to conform Lane Code and Lane Manual to state law. He noted with recording fees for vacations orders or ordinances, they are filed by a County department and it is in conflict with a Lane Code section that prohibits their charging a fee. He added the second fee is related to marking vacation orders or ordinances on plats. He also noted there were Lane Code sections that applied to recording of mining documents. He said they were duplicated in statute and it is more current than Lane Code. He said the last fee applies to the marriage license waiver fee that is also duplicated in Lane Manual.
Stewart opened the Public Hearing. There
being no one signed up up to speak, he closed the Public Hearing.
