1. PUBLIC COMMENTS

Lisa Arkin, Eugene, discussed ODOT and their option package by the governor to institute a Last Resort Roadside Vegetation Management Plan for all of Lane County and Highway 101 from Florence to Lincoln City.  She asked the Board to support ODOT and their plan to introduce low toxic mechanical means.  She asked for a letter of support.

Samantha Chirillo, Sierra Club, submitted comment to Public Works and to ODOT recommending the plan for the pilot project.  She urged the Board to continue to own the Last Resort Policy and write a letter to ODOT recommending extending the pilot program.  She thought Lane County should adopt alternatives that other counties have used effectively.
