HOUSING AUTHORITY AND COMMUNITY SERVICES AGENCY
Harris Hall Main Floor -- 9:00 a.m.
Weeldreyer remarked that due to unforeseen circumstances during the last week, she had not had an opportunity to read the material in advance, so will vote no on matters she has not read for that reason.
1. Approval of Minutes: May 30, 1995, following HACSA
MOTION: Approval of the Minutes. Green MOVED, Rust SECONDED. VOTE: 4-1, Weeldreyer dissenting.
2. Semi-Annual Board of Health Report.
Rob Rockstroh, Health and Human Services Director, provided a brief overview of the report (see material on file) and highlighted two items: 1) Public Health/High Risk Infants and 2) Alcohol/Drug Offender Unit. He reported that the A&D Unit has become basically an offender unit. Rockstroh observed that heroin deaths are still high. He indicated that there are a lot of clients on bench probation. Rockstroh stressed that he is hopeful that the Public Safety Coordinating Council will remember that a lot of the system comes through Health and Human Services. He emphasized that the system needs discussion. Weeldreyer applauded Rockstroh for his honesty, noting that the report raises important issues. She expressed confidence in Green and Cornacchia to take these issues to the PSCC and represent the concerns. The Board accepted the report.
There being no further business, this meeting adjourned at 9:20 a.m.
