JOINT BCC/VENETA AND JUNCTION CITY CITY COUNCILS' MEETING
City Hall, Junction City - 7:00 p.m.

Chair Ellie Dumdi presided with Steve Cornacchia, Bobby Green, Sr. and Jerry Rust present. Cindy Weeldreyer excused. Bill Van Vactor, County Administrator, Bob McManus, Sheriff and John Clague, Sheriff's Office, also were present from Lane County.

Present from Junction City: Councilors Bill Barrong, Shirley Kaping, Rob Stott, Winn Wendell and Corky Wilde; Bert Likens, City Administrator.

Present from Veneta: Mayor Bill Smigley; Councilors Tim Brooker and Fred Miller; Les Clark, City Administrator.

Also Present: Ken Jones, City Attorney for Junction City and Veneta.

2. Discussion/Sheriff's Levy Proposal.

Sheriff McManus reviewed the levy proposal, outlining its impact on Junction City and Veneta and their environs (see material on file).

3. Public Comment.

General support was expressed by those in attendance.

4. Other Business.

Bert Likens of Junction City, addressing a question to the city councils, asked if it was possible for the City of Veneta and the City of Junction City to share an employee to do building inspections. Les Clark, Veneta City Manager, stated that this was a proposal that merited further study.

There being no further business, this meeting was adjourned at 8:45 p.m.
