Commissioner Cindy Weeldreyer presided with Commissioners Ellie Dumdi, Bobby Green, Sr. and Peter Sorenson present. Commissioner Steve Cornacchia excused. C. Daniel Lindstrom, Recording Secretary.

1. PUBLIC COMMENTS

Green determined there was no one wishing to present testimony regarding issues related to the Metropolitan Wastewater Service District.

2. PUBLIC HEARING

PUBLIC HEARING AND ORDER 97-6-25-1M/In the Matter of Adopting the 1997-98 Lane County Budget, Making Appropriations and Levying Taxes.

In response to a question from Sorenson, Senior Budget Analyst David Garnick explained that as the Metropolitan Wastewater Service District, commissioners managed bonding and taxes and that the Metropolitan Wastewater Management Committee administered and operated the sewer district. He said that user fees paid operational expenses and that taxes were used to repay bonded indebtedness.

Green determined there was no one present wishing to testimony in the public hearing regarding appropriations or taxes for the Metropolitan Wastewater Service District.

MOTION: Approval of the Order.

Dumdi MOVED, Sorenson SECONDED. VOTE: 4-0.

3. APPROVAL OF MINUTES

Sorenson asked if the requested correction to the minutes of the June 19, 1997, 9:00 a.m. meeting of the Metropolitan Wastewater Service District had been made. County Counsel Teresa Wilson stated that the correction had been made.

Green determined there was consensus to approve the minutes of the June 19, 1997, 9:00 a.m. meeting of the Metropolitan Wastewater Service District.

There being no further business, this meeting adjourned at 9:40 a.m.
