Community Development Successes


We have received Community Development Block Grants for water system improvement projects and housing rehabilitation. We are committed to helping our rural communities within Lane County.

  • $1 million for Blue River


  • $750,000 for Mapleton


  • $400,000 for the Housing Rehabilitation Program


  • $70,000 for a Housing Center



  • We receive funding from the State of Oregon to be used for various community and economic development projects. Following are just some of our successfully funded projects and programs. You can read more uunder Success Stories.

  • $150,000 for Molecular Probes' Expansion


  • $60,000 Grant to Lane MicroBiz


  • $49,000 Grant for LCC Software Development

    May 16, 2008 Lane County was among those honored at an environmental conference, earning a Special Recognition for Energy Innovation Award for the Lane County SeQuential Fuels Project. This is the first time the award has ever been given. Read More

    January 23, 2008 $150,000 of Business and Workforce Development funding is now available for eligible economic development projects. Proposals must be completed and submitted by  April 29, 2008 at 5 p.m. Download the grant application packet. Click here

    April 17, 2007 LCC's Gaming and Simulation Program is a success! With a $50,000 grant from the Board of Commissioners, students can now pursue IT careers in entertainment, gaming, simulations for military, airline and aerospace industries, as well as science and medicine. Read More

    • Invitrogen/Molecular Probes expands its Eugene facilities with funding from Lane County Economic Development Agencies, the Regional Investment Board and the State of Oregon. This expansion and workforce development will create 65 jobs and invest $15 million into the Lane County economy.
