Lane County Sheriff's Office

:  To conserve the peace.

The Lane County Sheriff’s Office provides correctional services including a jail that houses 256  local offenders, a 39-bed Community Corrections Center (work-release), and out-of-custody programs such as Community Service and Sheriff's Work Crew. We provide 20 hours a day patrol of urban, suburban and rural areas, including timberlands, waterways, and coastal dune areas.  The Sheriff's Office conducts criminal investigations, maintains evidence and property storage, has an extensive criminal justice Records section, and operates a 24/7 Dispatch Center. Court security, offender transport, process services (criminal and civil), emergency management, and search and rescue functions round out the service the office delivers.

Lane County covers over 4,600 square miles, and is nearly the size of the state of Connecticut. Over 200 staff, along with many volunteers, support these services and utilize land, marine, air and other assets to maximize our response capability.

The Sheriff's Office, committed to justice and integrity, is sworn to protect and honored to serve the citizens of Lane County.

Thank you for your confidence in us.

Click HERE to view some helpful hints on using the CAD log.

You can use the public log to see what crimes have been reported to the Lane County Sheriff's Office.  Users can filter information by event type and/or date.  We are hoping that this tool will help community members in their crime prevention efforts by increasing awareness about the types of crimes reported to the Lane County Sheriff's Office.  Information is update once a day at approximately 1:00 am for the safety of callers, the community, and first responders.  While "homicide" is an option on the call list, homicide calls will not be viewable on the map due to the sensitive nature of those investigations and to ensure next of kin are notified appropriately.

***The information provided on the Crime Mapping site is subject to error due to the complexities involved in the transfer of data.  The Lane County Sheriff’s Office does not expressly or by implication warrant that the information or data accessed by the user is accurate or correct.  The Sheriff, or Sheriff’s Office, is not liable for any loss, cost, damages, or expense rising directly or indirectly in connection with this access.  Individuals obtaining information from this website should verify accuracy through appropriate entities prior to use.  The Lane County Sheriff’s Office provides this interface as a service to the public.  However, we reserve the right to limit access in order to ensure appropriate security requirements are met.

The Lane County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO) has discontinued mailing renewal notices for concealed handgun license holders.  The LCSO has incorporated an on-line appointment scheduling system and on-line fillable concealed handgun license application that should streamline the process for most concealed handgun license applications and renewals.

The Sheriff’s Office Property/Evidence Unit has posted an Unclaimed Property process for items in our physical possession (click on the link to access the list).  Property includes vehicles, boats, firearms, currency and other miscellaneous items.  If you believe property listed belongs to you, you must complete a claim form and submit it to the Sheriff’s Office prior to June 17th.   Claims are evaluated based on police report case numbers provided, serial numbers and other proof of ownership.  There will be no viewing of the listed items.  If you have questions, please contact the Property/Evidence Unit at 541-682-4332.
