Request for Qualified Providers
Risk Management Consulting / Insurance Agent of Record
Lane County is seeking respondents to a Request for Qualified Providers as the first step in a Request for Professional Services process to provide risk management consulting services and purchase of insurance on behalf of Lane County. Qualified Providers shall be insurance agents licensed to conduct business in the State of Oregon, experienced in handling property, casualty and excess workers compensation insurance programs, and providing a wide range of insurance-related services, in addition to providing risk management consulting services. Consultant shall have a minimum of 15 years’ experience in both insurance and Risk Management for self-insured government entities in Oregon.
If Lane County receives a single response from a Qualified Provider to this request, Lane County reserves the right to consider the request process completed. If more than one response is received, Lane County will move to a request for professional services process. The contract period is anticipated to be September 1, 2014 through July 31, 2015 and may be renewed through July 31, 2024 based on revenue availability and consultant performance. Anticipated annual funding is $25,000.00. Providers must meet all applicable Oregon Administrative Rules and license requirements.
CONTRACTOR must have administrative, technical and physical safeguards referenced in ORS 646A.622(2) to protect the security, confidentiality and integrity of personal information covered by ORS 646.600 et.seq. (Oregon’s Consumer Identity Theft Protection Act). Contractor must provide a certificate of insurance coverage prior to execution of the Lane County contract and insurance limits must be consistent with State of Oregon requirements. Services requested are:
Risk Management Consultation
Advise Lane County Risk Management regarding purchased insurance, self-insurance, contract insurance, safety practices and policies, hazard assessment and loss prevention.
Review County’s needs for purchased insurance, including excess property and casualty, flood, fair, public officials bonds, employee dishonesty, excess workers’ compensation coverage, and limited volunteer coverage with Risk Management, recommend coverage amounts, secure requested insurance coverages.
Respondents must provide the following information:
1. A letter (or e-mail) indicating interest in providing the services.
2. A description of the agency’s experience providing the services described above, including number of years’ experience providing similar services to government entities in Oregon.
3. A copy of the Agent’s current State of Oregon license to sell insurance.
