Each year Lane County social services programs provide the HSC with a their inventory of all available beds and units (or program slots) in Lane County that are designated (set aside) for homeless people on the night of the One Night Homeless Count (ONHC). This year the ONHC will occur on the night of Wednesday, January 26, 2011. The inventory is essentially a snapshot for this night. More on the 2011 Shelter Count

The ONHC provides information on how many people were in those beds and units on January 26^th. The HIC provides information on the total number of beds and units our community has available and designated for homeless people.

• On or before January 24th  the Lane County OPUS System Administrator will send the providers included in the 2010 inventory
  • the 2011 HIC template
  • a spreadsheet of all OPUS data related to the inventory
• Each program will have to determine the number of beds and units available for homeless people on the night of January 26, 2011. Some if, not all, the beds will be filled. We are counting all filled and unfilled inventory.
• Providers will confirm the inventories, update existing inventory information and/or add new inventory. There are new fields in the Housing Inventory Chart that will need to be completed for all inventory.
• The number of beds captured through housing transactions and emergency shelter night service transactions in OPUS must be accurate. The number of people in the program on January 26th should be less than or equal to the inventory (equal if your program is at 100% capacity.) Each provider has been asked to return the updated 2011 HIC template via email to lise.stuart@co.lane.or.us by 5:00pm on February 2^nd.
