Project Management Office

The Project Management Office (PMO) is a division of the Lane County Information Services (LCIS) Department.  The PMO is responsible for all I.T. projects from inception to completion, whether these projects are applications development, infrastructure, information systems, desktop, or database-related.  Most of these projects span several departments and may utilize resources from some or all of the other IS divisions.

The PMO is governed at the customer department level for department-specific projects, and with the IS Steering Committee and Technology Management Team for countywide enterprise projects or to resolve issues around competing priorities.

The PMO currently employs a modified PMI project management methodology.

Division Objectives

  • Ensure technology projects meet business objectives and requirements and are cost beneficial to the organization.
  • Expand PMO services, templates, process and policies department-wide for application to all projects region-wide.
  • Evaluate projects for opportunity to expand the customer-base to other programs with similar needs.
  • Deliver a value-added service that provides efficiency gains, cost savings, customer satisfaction and effectiveness in the development and implementation of technology-based initiatives.
