This statewide association supports
waste reduction and resource
conservation in schools by providing technical assistance, certification, and publicity to schools that are "going green," as well as free attendance for teachers and students to the annual Green School Summit, a full day filled with fun and educational workshops and resources.
Lane County Waste Management and City of Eugene cooperate in a K-12 Green School Incentive Grant available to the first 10 schools that become entry-level Oregon Green Schools or that move up to merit or Premier Level.
Check out the Oregon Green School Website to see which schools in our area are Oregon Green School, and browse for information and application forms at the "how to join" tab. Or better yet, contact Partners for Sustainable Schools to get started right away. They are available to visit and assist, inspire and guide your school through the certification process.

All materials are included for each workshop. We ask for a $3-5 sliding-scale donation per child. Children under 10 should be accompanied by an adult.
No need to preregister, just drop in anytime between 11am and 3pm.
You can also come by during any open hours for uninstructed creative play time. Just browse our many arts and crafts reference books and then, for a donation, you can use the studio and materials on hand at MECCA to create recycled arts and crafts. So if you're looking for something fun to do with the kids, come on over to MECCA!
