Like many medium sized cities, Lane County is no exception to a rise in gang activity.  Currently we have two full time Parole & Probation Officers who supervise a gang caseload.  Because our population of offenders are adults, the officer's focus on criminogenic needs instead of intervention.

**Anti-Social Associates
**Family Dysfunction
**Poor Self Control/Poor Problem Solving Skills
**Substance Abuse
**Lack of Employment/Employment Skills

This focus allows the Parole & Probation Officer to address underlying issues instead of solely on the gang activity itself.  Research has shown that many young people join gangs because they have many criminogenic needs that are not satisfied.
