How does the Electronic Surveillance Program work?
Currently the Sheriff’s Office uses two different types of monitoring equipment, Global Positioning System (GPS) and Radio Frequency (RF) monitoring. We also have the ability to provide daily alcohol monitoring in conjunction with the RF monitoring. With both systems the individual wears an ankle bracelet (monitor) that allows Sheriff's Office personnel to monitor their movements in the community. With the GPS system there is no other equipment and a phone line is not needed. With the RF equipment there is a monitor connected to a landline phone in the home.
