How are offenders monitored while on ESP?
Offenders are monitored both electronically with the equipment and in person by deputies.  ESP Deputies review the monitoring of all offenders on a daily basis.  When violations occur they are reported immediately to staff via e-mail.  The e-mail is monitored 24-hours a day by on duty staff.  ESP staff also review the GPS points for all offenders on GPS tracking on a daily basis.  Staff conduct home and employment checks on a regular basis.  Home checks are done to ensure the offender is following all program rules and that there are no drugs or alcohol in the home.  Offenders are also required to submit to regular drug and alcohol tests.
