These numbers are reported to the State of Oregon and Federal Bureau of Investigation for inclusion in overall national crime reporting. While media reports a national decline in crime rate, Lane County victimization has been mixed: decreases in rape, robbery and theft, increases in arson, assault, burglary and vehicle theft.
