Residential services provided by Lane County Mental Health (LCMH) are primarily available for consumers who are actively engaged in treatment with LCMH as a service provider. In-house residential specialists work closely with the Adult Outpatient clinical staff to assess consumer housing needs and explore placement options. Residential placement options include adult foster care homes, group homes and crisis respite care. Lane County Mental Health residential specialists serve as gatekeeper for these community resources.
Demand for community housing is high and most residential programs have wait lists. Method of payment and costs to consumers vary for each living situation.

Summit Residential Programs
Two Lane County Mental Health residential programs are operated in conjunction with Elder Health and Living. Both programs are located on the Elder Health and Living campus in Springfield, Oregon. Elder Health and Living provide 24-hour housekeeping and personal care staff. The Lane County Mental Health staff provides milieu management and intensive treatment services for residents.

Summit Residential North (SRN) is a secure ten-bed residential facility for consumers with severe and persistent mental illness. Summit Residential North is designed to serve individuals needing secure residential treatment who are transitioning from a state hospital and are moving toward greater community integration. The resident population consist of both males and females.
Access to SRN is managed by the state Addictions and Mental Health Division Extended Care Management Unit in coordination with Lane County Mental Health staff.

Summit Residential South (SRS) is a secure four-bed residential facility for consumers with severe and persistent mental illness. Summit Residential South is designed to serve individuals needing secure residential treatment who also require specialized medical treatment. This facility has a full-time nurse provided by Elder Health and Living to address health issues of residents. Residency is limited to females.
Access to SRS is managed by the state Addictions and Mental Health Division Extended Care Management Unit in coordination with Lane County Mental Health staff.
