Community Meeting: Low Water Affecting Mooring at Two County Marinas
Contact: Lane County Parks Division Manager Mike Russell, 541-682-2001
Lane County’s Richardson and Orchard Point marinas are being impacted by the lack of water in Fern Ridge Lake.
Lane County Parks will be co-hosting an informational community meeting with the Army Corps of Engineers at 6 p.m., Wednesday, May 15 at Harris Hall, Public Service Building in downtown Eugene. Community members who use these marinas are encouraged to attend.
“The water level is well below full pool and it is affecting our moorage holders with large keels; preventing them from launching their boats and mooring in Richardson and Orchard Point marinas,” said Lane County Parks Division Manager Mike Russell.
The Army Corps of Engineers will go over the expected operational management of Fern Ridge for the 2013 summer season at the meeting. Lane County Parks will present to moorage holders the County’s 2013 Special Circumstances mooring policy and procedure for those who are unable or are impacted in their ability to use the lake for mooring.
