Road Report Week of 05/4/14

Major road construction is scheduled for the week of May 4, weather permitting. Use caution in work zones and obey traffic control signage and flaggers.  Links to additional project information can be found at www.keepusmoving.info.



CITY OF EUGENE:

 
13th Avenue W. (Polk St. to Washington St.):  Work continues on the south side of the street.  Expect lane closures and parking closures on the right side of the street this week.

 

Goodpasture Loop Road:  Paving is complete.  Striping and manhole adjustments will begin, weather permitting.  Two-way traffic will remain open for the duration of the work.

 

Franklin Boulevard (Glenwood):  Construction of a new pedestrian safety crosswalk on Franklin Boulevard between I-5 and Glenwood Boulevard will create daytime lane restrictions through approximately May 5.  Travel on Franklin Boulevard will be restricted to a single lane in each direction between 7:30am and 4:00pm, Monday through Friday.

 

LTD West Eugene EmX Project:  During the week of May 4, 2014, in daytime hours, EWEB crews will relocate water hydrants on West 6th and 7th Avenues between Garfield and Charnelton Streets, and will prepare to switch to nighttime work beginning the week of May 11.  During nighttime hours, LTD contract crews will excavate and fill small exploratory holes in the pavement on West 11th, 7th, and 6th Avenues to determine the location of underground utilities.  Limited portions of travel lanes on West 11th, 7th, and 6th Avenues will be restricted for these activities.

 

Madison Street (W. 1st Ave. to W. 8th Ave.):  Repairs to wastewater and storm water pipes and storm structures will be performed throughout the week.  Expect brief delays, detours, large construction equipment and workers in the roadway.

 

North Shasta Loop:  Repairs to wastewater and storm water pipes and storm structures will be performed throughout the week.  Expect brief delays, flaggers, large construction equipment and workers in the roadway.

 

Olive Street (between 12th Avenue and 13th Avenue): Street and sidewalks are closed due to apartment building construction.  More information can be found at www.eugene-or.gov/CapstoneClosures

 

 

LANE COUNTY:

 

Layng Road, Cottage Grove area (at milepost 0.20 from Mosby Creek Road):  Mosby Creek covered bridge is closed for the duration of the rehabilitation project.  The road is closed at milepost 0.20 from Mosby Creek Road, until September 15, 2014.  Traffic should use Row River Road or Mosby Creek Road.
