The seasonally adjusted unemployment rate in Lane County dropped to 7.2 percent in November, the lowest since 2008.
“This is a significant decrease in the unemployment rate since the depths of the recession in 2009. This downward trend shows that Lane County residents are finding jobs and getting back to work,” said Glenda Poling, manager of Lane County’s Community and Economic Development division. “This is one more sign our economy is continuing to recover.”
Lane County’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate for November is slightly below the Oregon rate of 7.3 percent. The rate has been steadily declining since the recession.
