The Lincoln Street ballot drop box at Lane County Elections is open now through 4 p.m., Tuesday, April 30 to make it easier for voters to drop off completed registration cards.

“We’ve made this change to accommodate those who may not be able to come to our office during regular business hours,” said Lane County Clerk Cheryl Betschart.

Betschart reminds voters to check their registration to make sure they will qualify for a ballot for the May 21, 2013 Special Election. Voters may confirm their registration by visiting www.oregonvotes.gov and selecting My Vote.

“This is especially important for voters who have moved or for new voters,” Betschart said.

Citizens with an Oregon driver’s license, permit, or identification card, may register online at that same website. Registration cards may also be mailed to Lane County Elections, and must be postmarked no later than the April 30 deadline.

Lane County Elections is located at 275 W. 10th Avenue, on the corner of 10th and Lincoln in downtown Eugene. Public office hours are 9 a.m. to noon and 1-4 p.m., Monday through Friday. On Election Day, May 21, 2013 the office will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
