Road Report 
 
 
For the Week of July 27, 2015

Major road construction is scheduled for the week of July 27, weather permitting. Use caution in work zones and obey traffic control signage and flaggers. Links to additional project information can be found at www.keepusmoving.info.

CITY OF EUGENE:

 

E. 15th Avenue (Fairmount Blvd. to Agate St.): Saw cutting and pipe work will cause some slight delays. Watch for flaggers.

 

E. 17th Avenue (Fairmount Blvd. to Agate St.): Saw cutting and pipe work will cause some slight delays. Watch for flaggers.

 

W. 12th Avenue (Garfield St. to Hayes St.): Excavation for construction of new sewer mains and services. Watch for lane closures, lane shifts, construction equipment and workers in the roadway.

 

W. 19th Avenue (Chambers St. to Fillmore St.): Contractor will begin installing project information signs in advance of site work beginning the week of August 3. No impacts on traffic anticipated this week.

 

W. 22nd Avenue (Chambers St. to Fillmore St.): Contractor will begin installing project information signs in advance of site work beginning the week of August 3. No impacts on traffic anticipated this week.

 

W. 39th Avenue & Brae Burn Drive: Work nearing completion this week with general site cleanup. No delays or traffic changes expected.

 

E. 40th Avenue (Hilyard St. to Donald St.): Monday through Wednesday sidewalk ramp completion and pavement repairs will require some traffic control with signs and cones. On Thursday, milling and paving will close E. 40th Avenue; motorists should use E. 39th Avenue or other alternate routes. On Friday, excavation will begin on Donald from Willamette Street to E. 33rd Avenue. One-way traffic southbound; watch for signs and cones.

 

Andersen Lane (Hatton Ave. to Horn Ln.): Closed between Garth Lane and Harvey Lane.

 

Briana Lane (Andersen Ln. to Manzana St.): Possible daytime road closure to through traffic for underground pipe construction.

 

Division Avenue (River Rd. to Randy Papé Beltline): Project cleanup will occur during the day. Watch for signs, cones, possible flaggers and minor delays. 

 

Donald Street (E. 32nd Ave. to E. 40th Ave.):  Excavation continues for sidewalk ramp replacements. Traffic will be directed around some corners by cones and signs. On Friday, excavation will begin on Donald from Willamette Street to E. 33rd Avenue. One-way traffic southbound; watch for signs and cones.

 

Fillmore Street (W. 19th Ave. to W. 24th Ave.): Contractor will begin installing project information signs in advance of site work beginning the week of August 3. No impact on traffic anticipated this week.

 

Valley River Way: Asphalt grinding and base paving will occur this week. Nightly lane closures will be in place from 10:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m. During the day, all lanes will be open.

 

Spencer Butte Summit Trail (at S. Willamette St.): Construction on the summit trail is expected to continue through the end of July. Work will require occasional partial or complete closures of the butte and adjacent section of the Ridgeline Trail. Partial trail closures will continue Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.  Next full closure is presently scheduled for Wednesday, July 29, from approximately 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., depending on weather and other conditions. LANE TRANSIT DISTRICT WEST EUGENE EmX PROJECT:

 

All businesses remain accessible during construction. The public can email weemx@ltd.org to request traffic advisory emails regarding the West Eugene EmX project.

 

W. 6th Avenue (Charnelton St. to Madison St.; Van Buren St. to Almaden St.): One lane is restricted between Charnelton Street and Madison Street and between Van Buren and Almaden streets.  

 

W. 7th Avenue (Tyler St. to Washington St.): One lane is restricted in the daytime and two lanes are restricted at night.

 

W. 11th Avenue (Bertelsen Rd. to Commerce St.): One westbound lane is expected to be closed weekdays from 4:30 a.m. through 2:00 p.m. for utility work.

 

Garfield Street (W. 7th Ave. to W.  9th Ave.): One lane will be restricted from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. for utility work.

 

Jefferson Street Bridge/W. 7th Avenue: Southbound Jefferson Street Bridge off-ramp will be reduced to three lanes and to two lanes on the south side of West 7th Avenue.

 

Madison Street (at W. 7th Ave.): Closed on the south side of W. 7th Avenue.  Businesses and property south of West 7th will be accessible via nearby cross streets.

 

 

CITY OF SPRINGFIELD:

 

Franklin Boulevard (East of I-5 bridge to Glenwood Blvd.): Construction of a pedestrian path and street lighting is expected to continue through summer. Expect one-lane closures at various times.

 

Gateway Street (Kruse Way to Harlow Road): Construction on a pavement project and installation of new sidewalk curb ramps, pedestrian crossing push buttons, and audible countdown signals will continue through fall. Expect one-lane closures in each direction from 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m., Monday through Thursday nights.

 

S. Franklin Boulevard/McVay Hwy. (from the intersection with Franklin Blvd. to I-5): Installation of a new sewer pipe continues. S. Franklin Boulevard/McVay Hwy. and Nugget Way in the Glenwood area are closed to through traffic traveling to Franklin Blvd. to the north or I-5 to the south. Expect delays and use the designated detour route. Construction is expected to continue through late September. Access to local residences and businesses will be maintained and allowed via designated detours. LANE COUNTY:

 

19th Street (Marcola Rd. to Yolanda Ave.): Construction continues weekdays. Traffic will be merged into a single lane, one direction, as necessary. Lanes in the other direction will remain open. Expect minimal delays.

Marcola Road (Milepost 14-16): Construction continues weekdays. Traffic is routed to a single-lane detour alignment controlled by signals. Expect minimal delays.

 

Maxwell Road (River Rd. to Prairie Rd.): Construction continues weekdays. Traffic will be merged into the center lane, as necessary. Lanes in the other direction will remain open. Expect minimal delays.

River Road (Lucky Ln. to Wedgewood Dr.): Construction is scheduled to begin July 29 and will continue weekdays. Traffic will be merged into a single, one-direction lane, as necessary. Lanes in the other direction will remain open. Expect minimal delays.

River Road (Maxwell Rd. to Horn Ln.): Construction will continue weekdays. Traffic will be merged into a single, one-direction lane, as necessary. Lanes in the other direction will remain open. Expect minimal delays.


Row River Road (Milepost 4.0 and 5.4):
 Construction continues Monday through Thursday at both locations. Vehicle traffic on Row River Road will be directed onto a detour route with a reduced speed. Bicycle and pedestrian traffic on the BLM trail will be detoured onto a gravel trail. Traffic will be controlled by flaggers, as necessary. Expect minimal delays.

Thompson Creek Road (Milepost 0.06 to 0.81): Closed Tuesday and Wednesday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for culvert installation. Use Hwy. 36 to Indian Creek Road as an alternate route.

Yolanda Avenue (19th St. to 31st St.): Construction continues weekdays. Traffic will be merged into a single, one-direction lane, as necessary. Lanes in the other direction will remain open. Expect minimal delays.


Lane County Chipseal Program:
 Chipseal will be applied Monday through Thursday, depending on weather and the availability of materials. Traffic will be controlled by flaggers. Expect 15-minute delays and seek alternate routes whenever possible.
