For the Week of September 14, 2014

Major road construction is scheduled for the week of September 14, weather permitting. Use caution in work zones and obey traffic control signage and flaggers. Links to additional project information can be found at www.keepusmoving.info.

CITY OF EUGENE:

13
th Avenue W. (Garfield St. to Polk St): If final paving was not completed the previous Friday, final paving continues, followed by pavement markings and manhole adjustments to the new pavement surface. One lane will be open for traffic during the work but drivers should expect congestion due to side street, lane and parking closures around the work. th Avenue E. (at University St.): Contractor will continue work near 30th Avenue and University Street. Expect periodic lane restrictions and sidewalk closures. Watch for construction traffic.

Broadway E. (Pearl St. to Franklin Blvd.):
Paving has been delayed and is expected to be completed in mid to late September.

Donald Street (46
th Ave. to Fox Hollow Rd.): Paving is complete. Striping will complete the project. Expect minor delays.

Fern Ridge Multi-Use Path (Chambers St. to Hayes St.):
The portion of the path through Garfield Park is closed for an extended period of time to allow trucks and equipment to access the Amazon Creek Stabilization and Enhancement project. Cyclists and pedestrians are detoured onto 15th Avenue between Chambers and Garfield streets.

Goodpasture Island Bridge (Goodpasture Island Rd. and Delta Hwy.):
Work continues on the center bridge supports in the Delta Highway. Travel lanes on the Delta Highway have been shifted to accommodate the work zone. There is construction speed limit of 45 MPH on the Delta Highway through the construction zone. Please slow down and use caution. There are no other lane restrictions planned. Foundation work continues on both sides of the bridge. Retaining wall construction will begin on the east side of the bridge. Miscellaneous work will continue in the shoulder areas and embankments. Please watch out for equipment and trucks entering the roadway. The Goodpasture Island Road overpass continues to be closed to pedestrians. Bicyclists should merge into traffic if they feel comfortable doing so. Please find alternate bicycle/pedestrian routes if possible.

Green Acres Road (Applewood Ln. to Delta Oaks Dr.):
Contractor will continue electrical work at the new pedestrian island. Watch for construction traffic.

Hatton Avenue, Evergreen Drive, Manzana Street:
Contractor will be installing storm water piping and manholes in Hatton Avenue from east of Evergreen to Hatton Avenue. Watch for construction traffic.

Monroe Street (6
th Ave. to 8th Ave.): Concrete panel work on the east side of Monroe. Street will be open to one-way traffic. Watch for flaggers.

Monroe Street (Railroad Tracks north to 1
st Ave.): Street reconstruction on the east side of Monroe will begin Wednesday, September 17 and will be open to one-way traffic. Watch for flaggers.

Olive Street (11
th Ave. to 13th Ave.): Paving has been delayed and is expected to be completed in mid to late September.

Olive Street (between 12
th Avenue and 13th Avenue): Street and sidewalks are closed due to apartment building construction. More information can be found at www.eugene-or.gov/CapstoneClosures

City of Eugene Public Works road maintenance, at various locations:
Watch for workers and flaggers. Expect lane shifts and minimal delays. (Schedule may change due to weather.)

LANE TRANSIT DISTRICT:

West Eugene EmX Project:
Motorists can expect one or two lane restrictions on West 7th Avenue east of Garfield Street, and on West 11th Avenue between Garfield and Commerce Streets, on weeknights 7 p.m. to 7a.m.

SPRINGFIELD:

th Street and Main Street: Construction began September 8 on installation of a new pedestrian crossing signal. Be prepared for delays and flaggers directing traffic.

S. 2
nd Street (S. ‘A’ St. to S. ‘E’ St.): Construction continues on the replacement of a sanitary sewer pipe. Lanes on South 2nd from South ‘A’ to South ‘E’ streets are reduced to one way traffic. Be prepared for delays and flaggers directing traffic.

S. Franklin Boulevard in the Glenwood area (from the intersection with Franklin Blvd. to E. 19
th Ave.): Construction continues on the installation of a new sewer pipe. Both lanes of S. Franklin Boulevard from the intersection with Franklin Boulevard to Nugget Way are closed to through traffic. Access to local residences and businesses is allowed but expect some delays. Local and business traffic should follow detour signs on Henderson Street, 19th Avenue or Nugget Way for access within the closure.

LANE COUNTY:

Central Road, Veneta (
Hwy 126, mile post 0.00 to south of Petzold Road, mile post 3.50): Construction activity will include driveway paving and shoulder rock placement. Road will remain open but traffic will be controlled by flaggers, as necessary. Expect minimal delays.

Knight Road, Veneta (
Hwy 126, mile post 0.06 to Sheffler Road, mile post 3.89): Construction activity will include striping and removal of traffic control devices throughout the length of the road. Expect minimal delays.

Layng Road, Cottage Grove (at mile post 0.20 from Mosby Creek Rd.):
Mosby Creek covered bridge is closed until October 3 for rehabilitation project. Traffic should use Row River Road or Mosby Creek Road.

Siuslaw Road (
mile post 42.0 to approximately one half mile west of Fire Rd.): Traffic will be controlled with the use of flaggers while crews work on culvert replacement. Delays can occur in flagging areas for up to 20 minutes. A single lane bypass road will be available for use when construction crews are not on site

LANE COUNTY CHIPSEAL/FOGSEAL PROGRAM:
Chip seal will be applied depending on weather and materials availability. Watch for flaggers. Expect 15 minute delays or seek alternate routes at these locations:
