Today, Steve Mokrohisky has accepted an offer to be the next Lane County Administrator. The decision came two days after the Board of Commissioners voted four to one to extend an offer to Mokrohisky for the position.
"Steve understands the complexities of County government, and I am confident he is the right choice for Lane County as we move forward," said Pat Farr, chair of the Lane County Board of Commissioners.
The contract will be voted on by the Board of Commissioners during the next scheduled meeting on March 11. Mokrohisky is expected to start around May 6.
"While we are excited to have Mokrohisky joining us, we also respect his need to prepare Douglas County, Nevada, for the transition," said interim human resources director Howard Schussler.
The Lane County Administrator directs and coordinates overall management of the County government in accordance with policies set by the Board of Commissioners. The Administrator reports directly to the Board of Commissioners. The position pays between $155,000 and $175,000. The total compensation package will be announced at a later date.
