Thanks to the conscientious efforts of many community members, Lane County is a beautiful place to live.

Keeping it this way also means addressing illegal dump sites and ensuring hazardous materials are kept out of the environment.

Lane County employees are a part of the local effort, working in targeted programs that help keep lands clean, safe and beautiful.

How? Tune in to the latest show in the Working For You series and find out. “Waste Management – Removing Hazards and Nuisances” premiers at 9:30 p.m., tonight, March 10 on Comcast Cable Channel 21.

Learn from Carolyn Young, Lane County’s featured Working For You Nuisance Abatement Specialist, that 75 percent of the content in illegal dump sites is actually recyclable material. And, that there are many ways to properly dispose of or recycle materials.

Community members will also find out from Larry Gibbs, Lane County’s Special Waste Analyst, why it’s so important to dispose of hazardous waste properly – and how to do so.

This show is a continuation of the Working For You video series, which highlights how Lane County employees and system of services work to meet the community’s needs each and every day.
