The Kitten Roadshow Kick-Off
Contact: Kylie Belachaikovsky or Rochelle Jones, Lane County Animal Services, 682-3013
Lane County Animal Services is kicking off a summer season of promoting its adoptable kittens. LCAS is bringing the kittens to the public in a series of events called "The Kitten Roadshow". First stop is the Coburg Road Petsmart this Saturday, June 21. LCAS and Save the Pets are having a "kitten shower". Not only can you meet many adorable kittens, you can also help LCAS stock up on needed supplies like kitten chow, milk replacer, litter and toys. Donations will be accepted all day.
LCAS and other area rescues are tackling felnie overpopulation head-on by saving orphaned babies and then offering them for adoption. All of the kittens have already been vaccinated, and spayed or neutered, to make sure that the cycle of accidental breeding is stopped. Join LCAS' rescue mission this Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Petsmart on Coburg Road.
"LCAS has already rescued over 50 kittens this summer. Now that they are healthy, happy and ready for adoption, what these babies really need is their own life-long homes. Our goal for this weekend is to see at least 25 kittens leave Petsmart with their new families," said Kylie Belachaikovsky, LCAS volunteer and community outreach coordinator.
