In 2005 the Department’s 400 full time, 140 extra help,and 46 seasonal employees:
Maintained 1,432 miles of roads and 413 bridges
Disposed of 250,000 tons of solid waste at Short Mountain Landfill
Served 2.1 million parks visitors
Issued 836 building permits
Provided usage of 300 Fleet vehicles and 201 heavy equipment units
Processed $80 million in fiscal transactions
