Thanks to your efforts, Lane County has the 4th highest recovery rate in the state.

Lane County recovered 243,561 tons of material in 2005 -- enough to fill Autzen Stadium over 7 times.

The average Lane County citizen recycles 1,320 pounds of material per year.

The 2004 Lane County Fair achieved a 72% recycling rate.

Lane County Public Works, Waste Management Division diverts waste from Short Mountain Landfill by offering a wide variety of options in waste reduction, reuse and recycling.  From disposal appointments for difficult items like chemicals and computers to education programs for schools and groups and the annual TRASHBUSTIN' Recognition Awards,  Our commitment to waste reduction is reflected by Lane County's 52% recovery rate.

NEW!  Begining January 2009,  Electronic waste (computers, TVs, laptops and monitors,  stereo, printers, phones, etc) can be recycled for free!  5 locations only: Glenwood, Cottage Grove, Florence, Vida, and Veneta.  More than 7 items require a dispoal appointment,            call 682-3111.
