The Deeds and Records division performs the following fuctions in accordance with state and local mandates:
Records legal documents relating to real property, including contracts, deeds, and other conveyances of real property and maintains these records and indexes for retrieval through computer and microfilm.
Provides access to these records in the Public Records Library. Staff can certify a record as a true and exact copy of the original. While this is a "self-help" research library, staff are available to provide assistance.
Issue marriage licenses and perform civil marriage ceremonies.
Maintain Commissioners' orders, ordinances, resolutions and minutes in the form of the Commissioners' Journals.
Operate the County Records and Archive Center.
Online Access to Property Records
The Lane Council of Governments provides detailed property information online through subscription to the Regional Land Information Database (RLID). This data warehouse combines information maintained by multiple government agencies. For details, call 541-682-4467 or visit www.rlid.org.
