| TREE MAINTENANCE |
Lane County has developed standards and guidelines for how we manage trees located within County rights-of-way. Standards and guidelines were developed in 2006 to provide consistency and clarity for tree care practices within County rights-of-way. We have established clearance standards for both roadways and sidewalks to provide a high level of safety for the public and to reduce conflicts with other road maintenance programs. Tree health and aesthetics guide our tree program, and we make all possible efforts to insure that we reduce impacts to both trees and the public during our maintenance efforts, and we continue improve our program through education and training of all crew members involved in tree care at Lane County.
