Committee Description:

The Vegetation Management Advisory Committee acts as a forum for public input into the County's Integrated Vegetation Management (IVM) Program.  Thye review vegetation management needs and related issues and makes recommendations to the Board of County Commissioners.  The Committee also works with Public Works staff to establish vegetation management priorities in keeping with avaliable funds and IVM methodologies.  Reviews requests for vegetation management activities beyond the scope of routine maintenance.  Reviews the program standards and policies, including long range planing for future program needs and prepares recommendations for Board action as neccesary.  Serves as a liaison group in representing the vegetation management concerns of the community to the Board and representing Board decisions to the community.

All meetings are scheduled on the second Wednesday of each month.  Official meeting time is 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.  All meetings include dinner starting at 5:15 p.m.

All Vegetation Management Advisory Committee meetings are held at the Public Works office, in the operations building, Training Room #3.

The Vegetation Management Advisory Committee is made up of 9 at large members from the public, representing a diversity of backgrounds and perspectives.   Members are appointed to 4 year terms, and may serve for two consecutive terms on the Committee once appointed by the Board of County Commissioners.

If you are interested in serving on the Vegetation Management Advisory Committee, you will need to complete a County application along with a supplemental questionarre.  All applications are held active for one year from the date of application, and will be considered when a vacany becomes available.
