Citizen's Corrections Academy


Community members are invited to participate in the Lane County Sheriff’s Office’s Citizens Corrections Academy. This academy is an up close, participative training program.

Event Date:

Course starts Tuesday, October 9, 2007 6:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.
and meets on consecutive Tuesdays through December 4, 2007.

Class size is limited so early sign up is recommended.

Participants must be at least 18 years old and able to pass a criminal background check. For more information leave a message at 682-2224 with your name, number and best time to return your call.

 


What to expect:

 

The 31 hour training course will give participants an in-depth look at the types of training provided to correctional staff to develop and maintain professional standards.

Course topics include state certification requirements, learning and communication styles, offender management, use and reporting of force and organizational ethics are among other topics.

The course includes a tour of the Jail and Forest Work Camp Operations.
