Community members are invited to participate in the Lane County Sheriff’s Office’s Citizens Corrections Academy. This academy is an up close, participative training program.

Course starts Tuesday, October 9, 2007 6:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. Class size is limited so early sign up is recommended. The 31 hour training course will give participants an in-depth look at the types of training provided to correctional staff to develop and maintain professional standards.
Course topics include state certification requirements, learning and communication styles, offender management, use and reporting of force and organizational ethics are among other topics. The course includes a tour of the Jail and Forest Work Camp Operations. |
