The Office of the Sheriff is the administrative branch of the Sheriff's Office housing office-wide functions such as Fiscal, Personnel, Training, Planning, Labor Relations and Legal Counsel liaison. The Office of the Sheriff is responsible for coordination of programs within the department, ensuring they consistently apply policies and procedures related to budget, accounting, training, personnel, labor contract administration, liability and other administrative functions.
Fiscal Services provides financial services to a 24-hour, seven day per week emergency response and corrections operation. The majority of these services are provided out of the courthouse fiscal office and include bill paying and payroll processing functions, as well as accounting for a variety of fees for services to the public for such things as fingerprinting and concealed handgun licenses.
The Personnel Services section provides centralized services to department employees and volunteers by administering activities related to all aspect of human resource management. This includes administering the recruitment and selection process of employees and volunteers; monitoring compliance with applicable labor agreements, department and County policies, and legislated requirements pertaining to human resource management.
The Training Section develops and manages training programs, solely and with other law enforcement agencies. The section fosters skill development and reduces liability exposure by providing ongoing mandated and essential training to all employees in the Sheriff's Office.
