The Weighmaster unit of the Police Services Division is responsible for protecting County roads, streets, and bridges from damage by overweight trucks through the enforcement of state laws and County ordinances as they relate to truck weight, length, and permit requirements.
Weighmasters protect the motoring public by doing truck safety inspections for defective equipment, load security, driver qualifications to operate trucks on public roadways, and responding to abandon vehicle calls. This service is provided by Lane County Road Fund dollars.
