Posted on 11/07/2017

Lane County Youth Services' Martin Luther King Jr. Education Center’s (MLK Ed Center) Culinary Arts Program will be preparing turkey dinner packages for sale to the public. All proceeds will go directly to funding the Culinary Arts Program.

“The Culinary Arts Program offers youth the opportunity to learn different jobs involved in food service and catering all while teaching them pro-social skills that will help them thrive in the community,” said Lane County Youth Services Lead Juvenile Cook Jose Alvarez. “These meals are a way for the community to help us continue that valuable work.”

Dinner packages serve 8-10 adults and include one, 16 to 18-pound whole smoked turkey, garlic mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans, stuffing, rolls, cranberry sauce, and pumpkin pie for $80. Single smoked turkeys are also available for $45.

All orders must be made by Monday, November 20, for pick up between 3:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 22.
