Alternative Format Ballots and Accessible Computer Voting Station Available in Lane County

Lane County wants voters with disabilities to know that an Alternative Format Ballot (AFB) is a new voting tool that is available. This alternative ballot allows voters with disabilities who are unable to mark a printed ballot to vote privately and independently at home if they have, or have access to, a computer with a web browser and a printer.

To accommodate voters with disabilities that do not have access to the required technology to vote the alternative ballot, Lane County Elections has an Accessible Computer Station voters can use to vote privately and independently.

Any Lane County voter who wishes to request an alternative format ballot by email, or wants to come down to Lane County Elections to vote on the Accessible Computer Station, or needs assistance, may call 682-4234.

Lane County Elections is located at 275 W. 10 Avenue, on the corner of 10th and Lincoln in downtown Eugene. Office hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. On Election Day, May 20, 2008 the office will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Voters should anticipate longer lines at the elections office the Monday before and through Election Day, so are urged to make arrangements in advance, as possible, to receive prompter service.
