The Lane County Psychiatric Hospital provides
psychiatric inpatient services for mentally ill clients in acute
distress. It is a short-term care facility that provides an average
eight-day stay per admission. The unit accepts both voluntary and
involuntary clients. The facility is licensed as a hospital and as a
certified holding facility by the state of Oregon. Admissions to the
hospital are approved by Lane County Mental Health and facilitated
through the Sacred Heart Emergency Room. Peace Health operates the
hospital facility under a management contract with Lane County; Lane
County employs the medical director. The facility is licensed for 15
beds but has a functional capacity of 12 beds.
