Our Focus Areas:

Over-consumption of alcohol at/near Autzen Stadium:

Our coalition is a part of a task force seeking well researched and balanced approaches to decreasing excessive alcohol consumption among both adults and youth in our community during U of O's home football games.  The task group wants to help create the policies and conditions for all fans to celebrate the thrill of Pac 10 football at Autzen Stadium without the negative consequences associated with drunken fan behavior.  Contact Damien Sands at 541.682.4160 to find out how you can help.

Minors in possession of alcohol:

Consistent enforcement and follow up for Minor in Possession of alcohol is a good standard practice to deal with young people who commit the unlawful violations of consuming or possessing alcohol.  While many agencies are doing their part to implement their protocol, the comprehensive MIP process has the potential to be much stronger.

Take the time, be the difference:

Search Institute's 40 Developmental Assets are 40 qualities, characteristics and beliefs that all individuals ought to have in order to be productive and caring individuals.  Assets allow everyone to maximize their strengths and to be healthy, connected and responsible.  To find out more on assets and how to be a better asset builder, it just takes a little bit of time to be the difference!  Contact C.A. Baskerville for more information.

Media campaigns:

When it comes spreading information on how we all can create healthy community standards, you must have media on your side. Visit our media center to find out how prevention and local television, radio, the newspaper, and presentations team up to help all of us achieve healthy communities.

Drug-free workplace policies:

60% of Oregon employers identifying on-the-job drug use as a great concern. Across Oregon, many businesses identified drug use as the primary obstacle to hiring otherwise qualified workers.  An antidote to these problem behaviors can be comprehensive drug free workplace policies. They help employees become more productive, show up on time, make good decisions, and increase employee longevity at the job.  Drug Free workplace policies also positively influence public attitudes and behaviors on and off the job.
