“To promote and coordinate effective community-based prevention
strategies toward creating healthier communities.”
The CPHPP provides staff support to educate, engage, and assist
Lane County to address priority substance abuse, problem gambling,
and suicide prevention issues through strategic community health
promotion initiatives and evidence-based prevention strategies.
Develops and supports community partnerships and community
mobilization efforts to address prevention of problem behaviors and
increase protection and at the local level. Engages the community,
examines data and policy opportunities to shape county prevention
and health promotion practices and priorities. Provides staff
support to community based coalitions, schools, key leaders,
businesses, social service and health care providers, and others
concerned about the health of their community.
Provides and coordinates community education, training and
technical assistance for schools, community organizations, parents,
business, and others. Will provide a learning institute to support
professionals in building
their capacity in their on-going work. The
institute will include coordination of conferences and staff
training on relevant topics.
