Horacio Sanchez is President and CEO of Resiliency Inc., an organization which applies brain-based science and best practice research to a framework that helps agencies learn how to accomplish reform and to implement it in order to achieve identified goals and outcomes.  Mr. Sanchez did his graduate work at Duke University and holds degrees of Masters of Education and Masters of Psychology.  Former positions he has held include consultant to the Department of Public Instruction and Director of Children and Adult Mental Health for Wake County. 

Mr. Sanchez has utilized his training as an educator and clinician toward the education and treatment of children with severe emotional disorders.  His approaches are not only based on sound scientific research but have been the foundations of his award winning mental health and educational programs. His diverse education and background has helped him to merge research, science, and practice.  His book, A Mentor’s Guide to Promoting Resiliency provides a revolutionary framework for understanding childhood development, disorders, and treatment. He has provided numerous workshops and keynotes throughout the country as well as published various articles related to brain development and resiliency, include his latest, “A Brain-Based Approach to Closing the Achievement Gap.”
