Betting at home and in school By far the most youth, about two in three (64%), said they gambled at home. The next most popular place was at a friend or family member's house (48%), followed by schools. Cards and sports bets are favorites Survey results indicate the most preferred types of gambling were card games (42%), games of personal skill (40%), and sports bets (34%). Though this survey was not statistically valid and reliable, it provides a well-needed touch point on current youth gambling behaviors. The last gambling prevalence study of Oregon youth was conducted in 1998. An updated Oregon youth gambling prevalence study is currently in the planning stages. The actual survey instrument is available here.
