The Fatal Crash Investigation Team (FCIT) was created in 2017, following adoption of the Transportation Safety Action Plan (TSAP), to align County departments in working toward zero deaths on Lane County's transportation system. Implementing the TSAP actions requires collaboration with education, enforcement, and engineering practitioners. The FCIT consists of existing staff from various Lane County departments (Engineering, Transportation Planning, Road Maintenance, Sheriff's Office, Public Health, County Counsel, Risk Services) who have committed to meeting monthly to review crash data and develop recommendations for further consideration and implementation within the context of existing resources.
