Lane County to open four temporary locations for free storm debris disposal

Recognizing the need for residents to have locations to dispose of storm debris caused by the February snow event, Lane County is opening four locations for free disposal of downed trees and limbs in areas that were the hardest hit by the storm and are not served with local wood recovery/recycling options.  Three transfer stations (Rattlesnake, Marcola, and Oakridge) and one temporary site in the Fall Creek area will be open on three Saturdays for storm debris disposal from private residences. Hours of collection will be 8:30 a.m.–4: 30 p.m. on April 27, May 4, and May 11.


Locations:

  • Rattlesnake Transfer Station (82572 Rattlesnake Rd.)
  • Marcola Transfer Station (38935 Shotgun Creek Rd.)
  • Oakridge Transfer Station (48977 Kitson Springs Rd.)
  • Fall Creek temporary stockpile area (Milepost 2 on the north side of Place Road)


Accepted Materials:

  • Trees, branches, limbs only


Not accepted:

  • Lumber or other building wood waste
  • Yard trimmings
  • Garbage
  • Material from commercial entities including yard maintenance companies
