COVID-19 Testing

Due to changes in Federal funding, Lane County Public Health is pausing free community COVID testing clinics for a couple of weeks beginning mid-May 2023. Please keep checking our site for future COVID testing clinics when we resume services.

Testing helps us understand what COVID-19 looks like in our community, helps stop the spread and prevent further outbreaks. Some people may not have symptoms at all. The only way to know for certain is to do a test.

A negative test result before the end of the quarantine period does not rule out possible infection. Symptoms can develop 2-14 days after exposure.

AS OF DECEMBER 15, EACH HOUSEHOLD IN THE U.S. IS ELIGIBLE TO RECEIVE A NEW SET OF FOUR AT-HOME TESTS BY MAIL, FREE OF CHARGE
Those interested in the no-cost tests can place their orders at covidtests.gov. Help is also available on the phone at 800-232-0233.

For your testing comfort and convenience, Lane County Public Health is excited to announce our partnership with University of Oregon MAP Lab for Covid-19 testing supplies and a secure, online results portal. This means a few improvements!

  • Register online for a testing clinic. You will receive a confirmation notification where you MUST complete the UO Map Lab registration form prior to your arrival. Register as a “Community Member” and choose “Lane County Public Health Testing Event” as the location. Form must be complete - including the HIPAA consent - prior to providing your sample. Switch to Spanish language version at top, right corner of the form’s home screen.

  • We’ve switched from nasal swabs to saliva test kits. 30 minutes prior to test, do NOT eat, drink, chew gum, use lipstick or chapstick, brush or floss, or use nasal sprays. To learn more about saliva sample collection, click here.

  • Faster results reporting through UO’s secure, online portal. LCPH provides PCR tests, not rapid antigen tests. Results will be available – positive or negative – within 1-4 days business days. UO will email and/or text you portal login information (including confirmation ID) when your results are available. Simply log in to the portal, enter confirmation ID, name and date of birth to view and/or print your results.
