Apply to serve on the Lane County Property Value Appeals Board (2025-2027 Term)
The Lane County Board of Commissioners is accepting applications for at least three (3) open seats on the Property Value Appeals Board (PVAB) for the 2025-2027 term.

About the Board
The Property Value Appeals Board is responsible for hearing taxpayer appeals requesting a reduction in the real market or assessed value of property, as outlined in ORS Chapter 309. The Board does not hear appeals related to the amount of property tax paid.
Board members review evidence presented by petitioners during hearings and make decisions regarding the property's valuation.
Qualifications to Serve
To be eligible for appointment, applicants must:
- Be a resident of Lane County
- Have interest or background in real property appraisal, real estate, or finance
- Not be an employee of Lane County or any taxing district within the county
Board Membership Details
- The Board consists of three members, appointed by the Lane County Board of Commissioners.
- Terms begin on the date of appointment and end on June 30 of the second year following the appointment (unless the member resigns or is replaced earlier).
- Board chairs and members receive a stipend based on hours worked.
- Authority and responsibilities are defined under Lane Manual 3.080.005.
