The Lane County Building Program provides the review of construction plans, the issuances of building and electrical permits, and the inspection of residential and commercial construction to ensure compliance with code for structural integrity and public safety.

Certain projects will require Land Use Planning approvals and Sanitation approvals prior to being eligible for a building permit.

Lane County will be customizing our electronic application services on an ongoing basis to offer a better experience for the user. Permit History of a Property

The Land Management Division’s Property Records Online application (LMD-PRO) is a portal for accessing official county property related documents such as building, sanitation and land use permits as well as other property related records and historic information dating back to the 1970s.

ANNOUNCEMENTS

August 26th, 2025:

The Board of County Commissioners will hold a Public Hearing to discuss the adoption of Mercury TMDL erosion prevention requirements in the greater Willamette River Basin. See the Erosion Prevention Mercury TMDL Adoption Process webpage for more information.

July 2025: Fee Increase

On April 29^th, 2025 the Board of County Commissioners passed Order 25-03-11-08 In the Matter of Amending the Land Management Divisions’ Fee Schedule to Adjust Planning, Stormwater, Onsite Sanitation, and Code Enforcement Program Fees, effective July 1^st, 2025.

On May 13^th, 2025 the Board of County Commissioners passed Ordinance No. 25-04 In the Matter of Amending LMD’s Building Program Fee Schedule, effective July 1^st, 2025.

Important Changes: There will now be a $45 fee for extending building permits for the first 3 extensions. A 4th extension of a building permit will require a $111 Reinstatement Fee.

The updated fee schedules were posted on July 1^st, 2025.

May 2025: New Resource for Drawing Plans

The Building Program has created a new webpage to help people that are creating their own drawings.

The page provides resources for prescriptive wall bracing as well as header, joist, and beam sizes.
