Modern Urbanizable Land Project

Lane County was granted a Housing Planning Assistance Grant from the Department of Land Conservation and Development (DLCD) in 2025. Through this grant, DLCD provided Lane County with a private land use consultant to complete certain code amendments related to housing. The consultant for this project is 3J Consulting, who will be working on amendments to residential use zones snd standards applicable to the development of housing in urbanizable areas.

The amendments will address:

  1. Oregon Revised Statute (ORS) 197A.400 - Clear and Objective Requirements
  2.  ORS 197.475 to 197.493 - Manufactured/prefabricated housing and park requirements
  3. ORS 197.746 - Transitional Housing Accommodations

  1. Reduce barriers to diverse housing options when possible
  2. Simplify and modernize code terminology and procedures

This project will involve public outreach, including stakeholder interviews, public meetings and an online survey. Please check back on this page for future updates.
