Jay Bozievich

Jay Bozievich was born in Washington, D.C. in 1957 and grew up the middle child of five in the Maryland suburbs.

Educational Background: He attended the University of Maryland at the College Park campus where he earned a BS in Agricultural Engineering in 1981.

Occupational Background:
After graduation from the University of Maryland, Jay began his career in Engineering with a consulting firm as a staff engineer and moved on to positions of progressively higher responsibility as an engineer and manager. Jay obtained his license as a Registered Professional Engineer in 1987 and has maintained that license to present. He was employed as a senior engineer in the water division of EWEB at the time of his election to the office of Lane County Commissioner.

Community Experience: Commissioner Bozievich was elected to the Lane County Board of Commissioners in November, 2010, and was sworn into office January 3, 2011. He began his civic and political service when he volunteered to serve on the River Road-Santa Clara Urban Services Committee because he was a concerned resident of the River Road area of Eugene and he felt his background in civil engineering would be helpful to the discussion of infrastructure and urban services. It was while serving on this committee that became a founding member of the Board for the River Road/Santa Clara Volunteer Library. Jay has also been a member of the City Club of Eugene and the Eugene Metropolitan Rotary Club where he served as Secretary.

Jay was elected to the Lane Community College Board of Education in 2003 and served a full four-year term, spending the last year as Chair of the Board.  He has also served as an officer, member, volunteer and/or contributor to several civic and charitable organizations.
