Adult Protective Services

Lane County Behavioral Health has the responsibility to assure protective services for individuals with severe and persistent mental illness who are over 18 years of age. These services are provided when abuse or neglect is suspected. Adult abuse may include physical, verbal, financial and sexual abuse, as well as abandonment, wrongful restraint or involuntary seclusion, neglect and death. Lane County Behavioral Health employees and other community professionals are mandatory reporters of abuse.
